New Uses for Old Shelving

This summer, after a few years of downsizing and consolidating our physical collections….we found ourselves with several hundred linear feet of metal shelving with no home. It was no good for scrap, and it seemed like *someone* could use it…so we advertised on several local library lists and Voila! Four different libraries gladly accepted the offer and are in the process of hauling away our unused shelving. One library of note is in the Calvary Church of McDonough, New York (near Norwich). Folks in McDonough are saving the Historic Calvary Church building and setting up a library for their community. To volunteer for this project, contact Elinor Troicke at 607-647-5243.

Use WorldCat instead of SUNYConnect for ILL…

We are in the process of implementing a new interlibrary loan system for SUNYConnect, so the SUNYConnect catalog “request it” feature currently does NOT work. We hope to have everything up and running by late September… in the meantime, please use WorldCat when requesting ILL materials online. It works just fine! Any questions, email the or ask Pam or Anna.
